GLASSBORO, NJ – The New York University women's swimming and diving team won 188-107 at Rowan University on Saturday. It was the first meet of the season for both teams.
Miranda Coughlan (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) was the winner the 50 (24.54) and 100 (53.66) freestyles.
Carlee Timmins (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took first (5:20.64) in the 500 freestyle and second (10:52.54) in the 1000.
The 200 medley relay of
Daria Mnich (so. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson),
Megan Miller (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.),
Gabby Gligor (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and Coughlan came in second with a time of 1:49.95. Gligor captured second in the 100 (59.57) and 200 (2:16.91) butterflies.
Miller took third (1:10.14) in the 100 breaststroke. In the 200 backstroke,
Alex Bambrick (so. Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) finished third (2:17.06) and
Elizabeth O'Brien (fr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) followed fourth (2:20.12) and
Amanda Burke (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) was fifth (2:20.17).
In the three-meter diving, Corinne Finkbinker (so. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) had a third place (205.65) and
Klaudia Rzotkiewicz (fr. Egg Harbor Twp.,NJ/Egg Harbor Twp,) was fourth (185.00). Rzotkiewicz finished fourth on the one-meter board (192.30) followed by Finkbinder, fifth (189.90).
Emily LaBenski (so. Wenonah, NJ/Deptford Twp.) and
Veronica Alferez (fr. Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park Mem.) were fourth (2:02.58) and fifth (2:04.08) respectively in the 200 freestyle.
