Box Score CAMDEN, NJ – The sixth-ranked Rowan University men's soccer team increased its win streak to eight games with a 3-2 victory at Rutgers-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) contest on Wednesday night.
 
The Profs improve to 13-2 overall and they are unbeaten in the conference with a 6-0 record. The Scarlet Raptors are 6-6-3 with a 2-3-1 NJAC mark.
 
Rowan controlled play in the first half, outshooting Rutgers-Camden, 13-3. Forward Ryan Campbell (jr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) put the Profs ahead at 24:52. He took a pass on the left side of the box from back Ryan Logar (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.).
 
The shot count was closer after the break with Rowan holding a 10-8 edge. Forward Shane Guyer (sr. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) drew the Scarlet Raptors even at 46:52. He sent a long throw-in off the goalkeeper and into the net.
 
Forward Shane Doherty (jr. Delran, NJ/Delran) made the scoresheet for the 11^th consecutive game when he gave the Profs the advantage once again at 77:35. He followed up the rebound off a shot by midfielder Jake Connors (sr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan). Forward Matt Hendrickson (so. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) added an insurance goal at 81:53. He tapped in a pass from Doherty.
 
Hendrickson's goal loomed large when back Darnell Brown (jr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) recorded the final tally of the evening for Rutgers-Camden at 88:41. He scored with a header off a throw-in by Guyer.
 
Goalkeeper Kyle Dennis (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) stopped six shots for the win. Goalie James Brett (jr. Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) made 10 saves for the Scarlet Raptors.
 
Next, Rowan prepares for a home showdown with #10 Rutgers-Newark for first place in the NJAC on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
