PHILADELPHIA, PA – The La Salle University women's swim team won 125-75 over Rowan University on Saturday afternoon.
Rowan captured first place in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays with times of 1:42.16 and 3:49.53 respectively. The 200 free relay included
Polina Dineva (jr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.),
Bianca Karpinski (fr. Morris Plains, NJ/Morristown),
Julie Sheehan (sr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) and
Miranda Coughlan (so. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.). Sheehan, Karpinski,
Emily LaBenski (fr. Wenonah, NJ/Deptford) and Dineva were on the 400 free relay.
The 200 medley relay came in second (1:53.12) with
Alex Bambrick (fr. Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell),
Megan Miller (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.),
Gabby Gligor (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and Coughlan. Sheehan took second place (57.31) in the 100 freestyle.
Gligor finished third (1:03.88) in the 100 butterfly.
Carlee Timmins (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) was third (5:21.31) in the 500 freestyle. Karpinski came in fourth (2:02.75) in the 200 freestyle.
Bambrick's time of 2:21.21 took fourth in the 200 individual medley. Dineva was fourth (26.17) in the 50 free while
Claire McKissick (fr. Ellicott City, MD/Archbishop Spalding) finished fourth (58.19) in the 100 freestyle.
Daria Mnich (fr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) had a fourth place (1:05.53) in the 100 backstroke.
Next week, Rowan travels to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a 1 p.m. meet.
