GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team looks to surpass the NCAA Division I and II attendance records when it hosts Eastern University on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.  The game will be played at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.

The Profs hold the NCAA Division III attendance record (1,958) for all games.  The field hockey team set the mark on Sept. 28, 2013 when it defeated Neumann University, 10-2.  The NCAA Division I attendance record is 2,381 while the Division II largest crowd stands at 2,011.

Admission is free to the game and the entire Rowan and Glassboro community is invited to attend.  The first 500 fans will receive a cell phone wallet.  Rowan students with ID can enter the halftime contest to win a Fitbit.

The Division I record was established when the University of Maryland defeated the University of North Carolina, 3-2 in the NCAA final on Nov. 21, 2010 in College Park, MD.  The Division II attendance record happened on Sept. 14, 2013, when Shippensburg  University had a 5-1 victory at Mansfield University.
