Box Score GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA  – The Rowan University men's basketball team defeated Rosemont College, 99-94 in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Saturday.  The game was played at Gwynedd Mercy University.

With 1:04 left, guard Kyle Lafferty (sr. Philadelphia, PA/Central) made two foul shots and Ravens were ahead 94-92.  Guard Nick DePersia (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) nailed  three (0:51) and guard Joey Montalvo (sr. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington County Reg.) followed with a layup (0:24) and the Profs were ahead 97-94.  Forward Shawn Wilson (sr. Pleasantville, NJ/Pleasantville) sealed the win with two free throws (0:12).
 
DePersia ended the game with 26 points and five rebounds.  He was 10 for 14 from the floor with four three-pointers.  Wilson totaled 23 points and seven boards.  Forward Gary Carthan (sr. Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Reg.) added a career-high 15 points.  Montalvo contributed seven points and guard Rob DePersia (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) chipped in with eight points and five assists.  Forward TJ Booth (jr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) produced six points and grabbed six rebounds.
 
The Profs are 4-1 overall while the Ravens are 2-2 on the season.  Rosemont had five players that scored in double figures.  Forward Khai Roberts (sr. Middletown, DE/Middletown) and Lafferty registered 18 points apiece.  Forward Jamier Hughes (sr. Philadelphia, PA/Manor Junior College) collected 12 points and seven rebounds.  Guard Clayton Wolfe (so. Philadelphia, PA/Delaware Valley Charter) and forward Itay Levy (sr. Bala Cynwyd, PA/Harriton) each scored 10 points.
 
Rosemont started the second half with a one-point advantage (47-46).  Rowan trailed 64-60 at 15:09.  The Ravens had seven straight points to lead 71-60 (14:15).  Levy hit a three, Lafferty made a layup and guard Charles Presley (jr. Philadelphia, PA/Boys Latin) had a tip-in.  Lafferty's  basket put the Ravens up by 10 (77-67) with 10:39 remaining.  The Profs pulled within five points (77-72) after three points from Wilson and two by guard Josh Borrelli (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee). 
 
Montalvo's three at 7:40 cut the deficit to two (79-77).  Presley scored with a layup (4:13) to lead 88-85.  Carthan (4:02) and Nick DePersia (3:27) each had a basket, which put the Profs up 89-88.  Presley answered with two foul shots (3:10) and Lafferty hit a jumper (2:25) to go ahead 92-89.  Nick DePersia knotted the score at 92 with a three-pointer (1:22) then Lafferty had Rosemont's final two points at the line. 
 
Next, Rowan travels to conference opponent Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m.
