MAHWAH, NJ – The Rowan University men's swim team defeated Ramapo College, 166-88 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference meet on Saturday.
The Profs have a 4-0 record and a 2-0 conference mark. The 400 medley relay had a winning time of 3:35.38 with
Adam Sicinski (so. Allentown, PA/Parkland),
Mike Simunek (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.),
Nick Marks (sr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and
Jesse Novak (sr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan). The 200 freestyle relay took first place in 1:27.46. Novak, Marks,
Nate Wojtowicz (so. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) and
Eric Feuerstein (jr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) were on the free relay.
Rowan had three swimmers that took first place in two individual events. Novak won the 50 (21.60) and 100 (46.45) freestyles. Simunek finished first in the 100 (59.51) and 200 (2:11.47) breaststrokes.
John Tepper (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Tech.) captured first in the 1000 (10:09.57) and 500 (4:56.54) freestyles.
Marks swam 2:01.52 in the 200 butterfly for first place while Sicinski claimed first in the 100 backstroke (53.99).
Nick Marte (jr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) had a winning time of 53.51 in the 100 butterfly.
Matt Schillaci (fr. Sicklerville, NJ/Glassboro) took first (2:02.35) in the 200 individual medley.
Paul Long (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) touched first (1:47.16) in the 200 freestyle and
Anthony Czar (sr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) finished second (1:49.49). Feuerstein took second in the 50 free (22.15).
Dan Lawton (so. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) came in first (1:58.72) in the 200 backstroke and second (54.36) in the 100 back.
Matt Grubb (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) was second (1:01.83) in the 100 breaststroke.
John Shellem (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) finished second (2:03.90) in the 200 butterfly.
David Smits (so. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) had a third place (10:39.78) in the 1000 freestyle and
Cam Sexauer (so. Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon) followed fourth (10:45.45).
