GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's swimming and diving team defeated conference opponent William Paterson University, 146-74 on Friday night.
The Profs are 1-2 overall while the Pioneers have a 7-1 record. It was the first conference meet for both teams.
Rowan won the 400 medley relay with
Miranda Coughlan (so. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Emily LaBenski (fr. Wenonah, NJ/Deptford Twp.),
Nikki Broome (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and
Julie Sheehan (sr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) in 4:14.51. The Profs took first place in nine of the 11 individual events.
Sheehan touched first (2:04.56) in the 200 freestyle.
Polina Dineva (jr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) came in first in the 50 free (25.88) and second (5:49.75) in the 500 freestyle. LaBenski was the winner in the 1000 freestyle (11:17.25) and 100 butterfly (1:04.04). Coughlan swam 5:38.89 in the 500 freestyle for first place.
Alex Bambrick (fr. Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:20.29) and the 100 freestyle (57.00). Broome produced a first place (1:04.99) in the 100 backstroke.
Corinne Finkbinder (fr. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) won the three-meter diving with 187.80 points. She took second on the one-meter board (190.65 points).
Gabby Gligor (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) had a second place (12:15.31) in the 1000 freestyle. In the 200 free,
Claire McKissick (fr. Ellicott City, MD/Archbishop Spalding) finished second (2:08.30) and
Amanda Burke (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) followed third (2:11.61).
Carlee Timmins (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took second (58.48) in the 100 free and McKissick was third (58.55).
Bailey Howarth (fr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) came in third in the 50 free (27.37) and 100 butterfly (1:06.77).
Megan Miller (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took third (2:22.08) in the 200 individual medley.
Gabrielle Moskalow (fr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) was third (1:06.77) in the 100 backstroke.
Next, Rowan competes at Ramapo College on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.
