Box Score MONTCLAIR, NJ  – The Montclair State University field hockey team defeated visiting Rowan University, 2-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Red Hawks scored one goal in each half.  Forward/midfielder Kelly Watson (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) had the first one with a penalty stroke at 31:40.  Forward/midfielder Danielle Butrico (sr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) hit the cage with an unassisted goal at 52:42.
 
Montclair State is 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.  Rowan has a 10-5 record with a 1-3 conference mark.  For the Profs, goalie Carly DeMarco (jr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) turned away six shots.  Goalie Kaitlin Maguire (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) recorded the shutout.
 
Next week, Rowan is home against William Paterson University on Saturday, October 22 at 6 p.m.
