ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's swim team defeated Montclair State University, 145-113 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) meet on Saturday.
The 200 medley relay with
Polina Dineva (so. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.),
Olivia Wojtowicz (sr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County),
Gabby Gligor (fr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and
Miranda Coughlan (fr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) had a winning time of 1:53.66. The 400 freestyle relay finished first in 3:47.49. Coughlan, Dineva,
Julie Sheehan (jr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) and Gligor were on the free relay.
The Profs improved to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Red Hawks are 6-3 overall with a 0-2 NJAC mark.
Wojtowicz took first in the 100 (1:10.56) and 200 (2:35.66) breaststrokes. She also won the 400 individual medley in 4:51.86. Coughlan captured first in the 50 (25.14) and 100 (54.56) freestyles. Sheehan won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:02.26. She had second places in the 50 (25.53) and 100 (55.42) free.
Amanda Burke (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) was the winner (2:15.70) in the 200 backstroke. She had a third place in the 200 freestyle (2:06.88) and 400 individual medley (5:04.08). Gligor came in first (1:02.80) in the 100 butterfly and second (2:25.86) in the 200 butterfly.
Julia DelNero (sr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) finished second in the 1000 (11:19.51) and 500 (5:31.86) freestyles.
Sam Wahl (sr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) was second (1:14.07) in the 100 breaststroke. She also took second (2:40.88) in the 200 breaststroke. Dineva had a second place (1:02.87) in the 100 butterfly and was third (1:05.20) in the 100 backstroke.
Next week, Rowan travels to conference opponent The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Jan. 23 for a 2 p.m. meet.
