Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ –The Rowan University men's basketball team defeated Ramapo College, 100-89 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.
The Profs had five players that scored in double figures. Forward
Shawn Wilson (jr. Pleasantville, NJ/Pleasantville) produced a game-high 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. Guard
Nick DePersia (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) contributed with 18 points, seven boards and seven assists. Guard
Rob DePersia (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) and forward
Chris Gross (sr. Cranford, NJ/Roselle Catholic) added 15 and 14 points respectively. Guard
Kris O'Connor (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Paul VI) chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Rowan has a 3-8 record with a 1-4 conference mark. Ramapo is 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the NJAC. For the Roadrunners, forward Frank Nock (sr. Bridgeton, NJ/Bridgeton) totaled 22 points, which included his 1,000th career point. He is the 19th men's player at the school to reach the mark. Forward Thomas Bonacum (sr. Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Christopher Moseley (so. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) scored 13 points. Guard Josh Ford (so. Fort Lee, NJ/Fort Lee) and forward Saint-Simeon Beaubrun (fr. Irvington, NJ/Columbia) each had 10 points and six rebounds.
In the first half, the Profs were ahead by 12 points (22-10) at 12:54 after a three-pointer by forward
Gary Carthan (jr. Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Reg.).
Rob DePersia made a layup (10:38) and the score was 28-14. The Roadrunners cut the deficit to seven points (28-21) after Ford's basket (10:10), Moseley's layup (9:45) and forward Jermaine Peart's (jr. Paterson, NJ/Paterson Catholic) three-point play (9:23). Wilson sank two foul shots with 5:48 left and the Profs were ahead 37-26. Nock had a layup (2:51) then Rowan made four straight baskets to end the period with an 18 point lead (49-31). Gross hit a jumper (2:33) followed by O'Connor with a three-pointer (1:44) and
Nick DePersia nailed two threes (1:16, 0:11). Wilson ended the period with 13 points and
Nick DePersia contributed with 10.
The Profs led by 19 points (63-44) with 14:40 remaining in the second stanza. Rowan scored 11 consecutive points to lead 74-44 at 12:23. Wilson had a layup at 7:02 for a 22-point advantage (86-64). Ramapo answered with a 10-1 run and trailed 87-74 with 3:35 on the clock. Bonacum scored a layup at the 1:33 mark and the Roadrunners were within nine points (91-82).
Nick DePersia had a layup (1:08) and the score was 95-84. Nock hit two free throws (0:58) and Ramapo was down by nine (95-86). Wilson scored a basket and a foul shot (0:46) to lead by 12 (98-86) with 46 seconds left.
Rob DePersia's two points at the line (0:32) ended the scoring.
