Box Score UNION, NJ – Kean University quarterback Charles App scored a touchdown on a 14-yard run in overtime, giving the Cougars a 20-17 victory over Rowan University.
The Profs got the ball to start overtime and kicker
Tyler Knighton (so. Gibbstown, NJ/Paulsboro) converted a 31-yard field goal for a 17-14 lead. The Cougars used four plays to drive 25 yards and score the game-winner.
Both teams are 6-3 overall and 5-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. App (so. Staten Island, NY/New Dorp) completed 20 passes in 38 attempts for 177 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed the ball 11 times for 90 yards and one score. Tailback Damian Corredor (jr. Weehawkin, NJ/Weehawkin) ran for 69 yards on 25 carries. Tight end Jonathan Schmitt (sr. Cliffside Park, NJ/Cliffside Park) caught nine passes for 54 yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Taj Hammary (so. Asbury Park, NJ/Asbury Park) had 45 yards receiving on two catches and scored once.
Linebacker Robert Meade (jr. Colonia, NJ/Bishop Ahr) made 15 tackles. Safety David Coleman (jr. Jersey City, NJ/St. Anthony) collected 13 tackles, including one for a loss (4 yards). Linebacker Stephan Lewis (jr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) added 11 stops, including one for a loss (5 yards).
For Rowan, running back
Quincey Lambert (fr. Browns Mills, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) accumulated 106 yards on 29 carries and scored one TD. Quarterback
Dante Pinckney (so. Lawnside, NJ/Haddon Heights) threw for 132 yards (19-26) and had a rushing touchdown. Wide receiver
Russ Forchion (sr. Clementon, NJ/Hammonton) made 10 receptions for 69 yards.

Darren Dungee (sr. Morristown, NJ/Morristown) recorded 12 tackles. Defensive back

After a scoreless first quarter, Kean struck first with 9:26 to play in the second. App connected with Hammary for a 24-yard touchdown that capped a four-play, 50-yard drive. The Cougars then forced a three and out. On the ensuing possession, they took the ball 68 yards on 11 plays, scoring on a seven-yard touchdown reception by Schmitt at the 4:33 mark. Kean led 14-0 at halftime.
Rowan took the kick-off to start the third period and drove 75 yards in 15 plays. Lambert ended the possession with a one-yard touchdown run, making the score 14-7 with 7:09 on the clock. He ran the ball 10 times for 51 yards during the drive.
On the third play of the fourth quarter, Pinckney dove into the end zone from one-yard out to tie the game at 14 with 14:04 remaining. The drive was set up by a Barbieri interception on Kean's 30-yard line. The big play was a 23-yard reception by wide receiver
Jamel Smith (so. Pine Hill, NJ/New Egypt) on fourth and 15. The catch gave Rowan a first and goal at the one. The Profs had a chance to win the game on the final play of regulation, but a 43-yard field goal attempt was missed.
