Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team shut out Montclair State University, 2-0 in the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament.
The Profs have a 14-5 record and they are the second seed in the conference tournament. Rowan travels to number one The College of New Jersey (17-1) for the championship on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
In the other semifinal, TCNJ defeated the fourth seed William Paterson University, 3-0. The NJAC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Jacqui Rosati (fr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Paul VI) gave the Profs a 1-0 advantage after the first half. She tapped a loose ball into the right side of the cage at 27:31. The second goal (40:08) came on a penalty corner by back
Marisa Marini (sr. Carneys Point, NJ/Padua Academy (DE)). She passed the ball to back
Abbie Tucker (so. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) who blasted a shot from the left side of the circle.
Goalie
Carly DeMarco (so. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) stopped five shots and Marini made one defender save. For the Red Hawks, goalie Rebecca Brattole (sr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) had four saves.
This is the fifth year for the NJAC Field Hockey Championship Tournament. All five years, the Profs have advanced to the postseason. Rowan played in the championship game in 2014 and 2012.
