ResultsWAYNE, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming and diving team won 158-72 at William Paterson University on Tuesday night.
The Profs are 1-1 on the season while the Pioneers have a 2-2 mark. It was the first conference meet for both teams.
The 200 medley relay swam a winning time of 1:42.14 with
Connor Buck (sr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.),
Jon Shepard (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.),
Nate Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, NJ/Queen Anne's County) and
Kyle Surette (sr. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan). Rowan also took first place in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:32.22. The free relay included
John Tepper (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Technology),
Nick Marte (so. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn),
Joe Furze (fr. Moorestown, NJ/St. Joseph's Prep) and
Luke Wister (jr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights).
Rowan finished first in 10 of the 11 individual events.
John Morris (jr. Bridgeton, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) was the winner in both diving events. He totaled 286.95 points on the one-meter board and 255.90 points in the three-meter diving.
Wojtowicz had first places in the 50 (22.79) and 100 (50.42) freestyles.
Jesse Novak (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) touched first in the 200 free with a time of 1:48.51.
Colin Fisher (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) swam a winning time of 10:50.19 in the 1000 freestyle and
Cam Sexauer (fr. Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon) came in first (5:09.65) in the 500.
Eric Feuerstein (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) took first (54.78) in the 100 butterfly.
Adam Sicinski (fr. Breinigsville, PA/Parkland) was the winner (54.05) in the 100 backstroke and
Nick Marks (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) took first (1:01.01) in the 100 breaststroke.
Surette had a second place (11:03.22) in the 1000 freestyle followed by Marte, third (11:26.38).
Paul Long (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) came in second (1:50.74) in the 200 free.
John Shellem (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) finished second (23.07) in the 50 free. Furze took second (2:05.56) in the 200 individual medley.
Steve Numata (fr. Princeton, NJ/Princeton) had second places in the one (206.25 points) and three-meter diving (187.42 points).
David Smits (fr. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) finished third (1:57.62) in the 200 freestyle.
Steven Buzby (jr. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) and
Anthony Czar (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) were third (2:05.89) and fourth (2:06.01) respectively in the 200 individual medley.
Mike Grubb (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Cleariview Reg.) came in third (176.47 points) in the one-meter diving and fourth (158.85 points) in the three-meter.
Rowan hosts Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. The divers will compete against West Chester University at 2 p.m.
