ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swim team defeated Ramapo College, 198-64 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) meet on Saturday.
Rowan has a 2-2 record and a 2-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference mark. Ramapo is 3-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Profs won both relays and 11 of the 12 individual events.
The 400 medley relay of
Joe Furze (f. Moorestown, NJ/St. Joseph's Prep (PA)),
Tyler Coe (sr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.),
Nick Marks (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and
Jesse Novak (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) came in first with a time of 3:31.06. The 200 freestyle relay had a winning time of 1:24.54. Coe,
Eric Feuerstein (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit), Marks and Novak were on the free relay.
Mike Simunek (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) came in first in the 100 (59.78) and 200 (2:13.05) breaststrokes. Marks won the 50 free in 21.38 and Feuerstein took first place (1:45.92) in the 200 freestyle. Coe was the winner (48.82) in the 100 freestyle while
John Tepper (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Technology) and
Nick Marte (so. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) were second (49.83) and third (50.04) respectively.
Novak took first (53.41) in the 100 butterfly.
Adam Sicinski (fr. Breinigsville, PA/Parkland) touched first (52.96) in the 100 backstroke and
Dan Lawton (fr. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) won (2:00.39) the 200 backstroke.
Steven Buzby (jr. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) swam 4:59.18 in the 500 freestyle for a first place finish.
Connor Buck (sr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) won (2:02.40) the 200 individual medley and he was third in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.77).
Jon Shepard (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took second (1:00.40) in the 100 breaststroke. Czar was second (21.98) in the 50 free and Sicinski followed third (22.28).
Nate Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) finished second (54.60) in the 100 butterfly. Furze had a second place (2:03.51) in the 200 individual medley.
In the 200 butterfly,
John Shellem (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and Buzby were second (2:03.80) and third (2:06.32) respectively.
Colin Fisher (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) took second (5:01.91) in the 500 freestyle. Fisher had a third place (1:48.94) in the 200 free and Novak followed fourth (1:49.82).
Luke Wister (jr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) finished third (2:04.28) in the 200 backstroke.
Eric Emerson (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) came in third (5:04.68) in the 500 freestyle.
Next week, Rowan travels to Pace University on Saturday, Nov. 21 for a 1 p.m. tri-meet that includes St. Peter's University.
