ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's swim team won 139-123 over Rowan University on Saturday. It was the season opener for both teams.
The Profs took first (3:12.28) and second (3:12.90) in the 400 freestyle relays. The winning free relay included
Paul Long (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee),
Tyler Coe (sr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.),
Adam Sicinski (fr. Breinigsville, PA/Parkland) and
Jesse Novak (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan).
Anthony Czar (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.),
Nick Marks (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic),
Marc Gernhardt (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and
Eric Feuerstein (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) were on the second place team.
Novak was the winner (21.39) in the 50 free followed by Feuerstein and Sicinski who were second (21.59) and third (22.01) respectively. In the 100 free, Novak capture first (47.42) while Czar came in third (47.84) and Feuerstein was fourth (47.88).
Coe won the 100 (59.65) and 200 (2:11.91) breaststrokes and Long captured second in both events (100 - 1:00.22, 200 – 2:13.73). Marks swam a winning time of 1:55.69 in the 200 butterfly. He also touched first (50.75) in the 100 butterfly.
The 200 medley relay was second in 1:33.58 with
Joe Furze (fr. Moorestown, NJ/St. Joseph's Prep (PA)), Coe, Marks and Novak. Czar came in second (1:45.65) in the 200 free
In the 100 backstroke, Furze finished third (54.15) followed by
Dan Lawton (fr. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury), fourth (54.46) and
Eric Emerson (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.), fifth (56.08). Furze also had a third place (1:58.67) in the 200 backstroke.
Connor Buck (sr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) came in third (2:01.84) in the 200 individual medley and he had a fifth place (2:01.38) in the 200 backstroke.
Nate Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) had a fourth place (1:49.91) in the 200 freestyle.
Mike Simunek (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took fourth (2:15.65) in the 200 breaststroke.
Next, Rowan starts its conference schedule at William Paterson University on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m.
