GLASSBORO, NJ – The Richard Stockton College women's basketball team defeated Rowan University, 71-55 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday night.
Forward Lauren Alwan (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) led the way with a game-high 23 points and eight rebounds. Forward Sasha Williams (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) contributed with 16 points and seven boards. Forward Sara Farrell (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and guard Lea Mendolla (fr. Nutley, NJ/Mount St. Dominic) added 12 and 10 points respectively. Farrell also grabbed nine rebounds. Guard Jazmin Palma (jr. North Bergen, NJ/North Bergen) collected six assists.
The Ospreys are 13-4 overall with a 9-1 conference mark. The Profs have a 12-4 record and they are 8-2 in the NJAC. Rowan guard

Ashanti Bishop (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) and Matthews totaled six rebounds apiece.
Richard Stockton started the game with a 17-2 run in 4:48. Alwan totaled eight points and Williams registered four. Mendolla nailed a three-pointer and Farrell scored a basket. Alwan made a layup and foul shot (12:53) to lead 26-9. Guard
Jade Bonder (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had a layup (7:53) and Rowan trailed by 14 (32-18). Guard Coby Johnson (jr. Paterson, NJ/Manchester Twp.) hit a jumper (5:40) and sank two free throws (5:26) to put the Ospreys up 37-19. Sanchez had a basket at 5:05 and the Profs were down by 16 (37-21). Richard Stockton followed with seven straight points for a 23-point advantage (44-21) with 3:10 remaining. Mendolla produced five points and Alwan had two. Farrell's jumper at the nine-second mark ended the half and the Ospreys were ahead 48-25.
In the second stanza, Matthews made a layup at 16:25 and the Profs were down 50-29. Farrell hit a jump shot (16:01), Williams followed with a basket (15:39) and Alwan had one-point at the line (12:58) for a 26-point advantage (55-29). Alwan had two foul shots (4:38) to lead 66-46. The Profs made it an 11-point game (66-55) after a 9-0 run with 56 seconds remaining. Schullstrom scored seven points and Sanchez had two foul shots. Richard Stockton closed out the game with five straight points. Palma made two free throws (0:45), Farrell contributed with a layup (0:38) and Alwan had a foul shot (0:07).
This weekend, Rowan hosts Ramapo College on Saturday, January 24 at 1 p.m.
