Box Score HAVERFORD, PA – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team topped Haverford College, 10-5 on Thursday night.
Attack Becca Wood (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) scored three times for Rowan. Midfielder Jess Casterline (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) tallied two goals. Midfielders Kelly O'Brien (fr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick), Cat Luick (so. Tinton Falls, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) and Brittany Bollendorf (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and attacks Marissa Micciche (sr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) and Rachel Hofbauer (fr. Totowa, NJ/Wayne Valley) recorded one goal apiece. Luick and Bollendorf each produced one assist.
Haverford had five different goal scorers. Midfielders Diana Perry (jr. Bethesda, MD/Milton Academy (MA)), Christina Gould (so. Newton, CT/Lauralton Hall), Sarina Manetta (fr. Commack, NY/Commack) and Maura Grant (fr. Chappaqua, NY/Horace Greeley) along with attack Dayna Kim (jr. Portland, OR/Jesuit) each scored once. Attack Jamie Rosenstein (fr. Baltimore, MD/McDonogh School) and Manetta had one assist apiece.
Profs' goalie Lindsay Barrie (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made 10 saves. Fords' goalkeeper Shannon Horn (sr. Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards) had five stops. Rowan has a record of 5-2 and Haverford has a 4-4 mark.
Kim put Haverford on the board first with a goal at the 2:12 mark. Perry then made the score 2-0 with 16:55 on the clock. Luick scored Rowan's first goal at 14:51. The Fords extended their lead to 3-1 on a goal by Grant (16:05). The Profs tallied the next four goals to take a 5-3 advantage with one-second to play in the first half. Wood produced three goals and Casterline one.
Micciche made the score 6-3 (34:32) with a goal. Manetta cut the deficit to 6-4 (36:43), but the Profs scored three unanswered goals for a 9-4 advantage with 18:48 on the clock. O'Brien, Hofbauer and Bollendorf had one goal apiece. Gould recorded a goal with 11:29 left in the second half to trim the advantage to 9-5. Casterline capped off the scoring at 59:59 for a 10-5 final score.
Rowan returns to action on Wednesday, April 2 when it hosts Stevens Institute of Technology at 6 p.m.
