Women's Swimming Wins 148-103 Over Ramapo

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's swim team won 148-103 over Ramapo College on Saturday. 

The Profs have an overall record of 9-2 and a 3-1 New Jersey Athletic Conference mark.  The Roadrunners are 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Rowan took first place in the 200 medley (1:55.76) and 400 freestyle (3:50.89) relays.  The medley relay included Lauren Grajek (sr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.), Olivia Wojtowicz (so. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County), Allison Schneider (sr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) and Victoria Grimsgaard (so. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.).  Julie Sheehan (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.), Grajek, Schneider and Grimsgaard were on the freestyle relay.

Schneider came in first in the 200 (2:02.93) and 500 (5:24.06) freestyles.  Grajek was the winner in the 100 (1:03.48) and 200 (2:18.06) backstrokes.  Grimsgaard took first place in the 50 (24.84) and 100 (56.72) freestyles.  Wojtowicz had firsts in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.65) and 200 individual medley (2:17.10).

Julia DelNero (so. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) finished first (11:16.16) in the 1000 freestyle and fourth (2:29.64) in the 200 butterfly.  Sam Wahl (so. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) won (2:33.76) the 200 breaststroke and was third (1:13.58) in the 100 breaststroke.  Adrienne Bush (sr. Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) came in second (11:34.86) in the 1000 freestyle and Christine Gustafson (fr. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) had a second place (2:25.25) in the 200 butterfly.

In the 200 free, Leanne Zaug (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and Nicole Vick (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) were second (2:05.28) and third (2:05.54) respectively.  Alyssa Schaefer (jr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) finished third in the 1000 freestyle (11:40.59) and 200 butterfly (2:26.57).  Ashley El Naggar (so. Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) had a third place (1:05.02) in the 100 backstroke. 

For Ramapo, Jamie Stein (jr. Sloatsburg, NY/Suffern) won (2:25.17) the 200 butterfly and was second (1:05.31) in the 100 butterfly.  Brenda Arthur (fr. Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck) took first (1:01.76) in the 100 butterfly.  She came in second in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.99) and 200 individual medley (2:21.04). 

In the 50 free, Kari Lefebvre (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) and Amanda Wilson (jr. Summit, NJ/Summit) were second (27.44) and third (27.88) respectively.  Lefebvre also took second (59.52) in the 100 freestyle followed by Devan Swistack (so. Augusta, NJ/High Point), third (59.71).  Maggie Nagle (jr. Little Silver, NJ/Red Bank Reg.) had a second place in the 100 (1:04.93) and 200 (2:20.78) backstrokes.  Megan Fosko (so. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) finished second (2:40.70) in the 200 breaststroke and was third (2:30.22) in the 200 individual medley.  Kylie Suydam (jr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had a second place (5:41.16) in the 500 freestyle.
