Box Score Tournament CentralRADNOR, PA – The Rowan University men's basketball team won 80-71 over Rosemont College in the first game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Saturday. Cabrini College hosted the tripleheader fundraiser.
The Profs had four players that scored in double figures. Forward
Ike Robinson (jr. Trenton, NJ/Conwell-Egan Catholic (PA)) totaled 19 points and forward
Mike Simpson (sr. Sicklerville, NJ/Winslow Twp.) followed with 18. Forward
Chris Gross (jr. Cranford, NJ/Roselle Catholic) contributed with a career-high 15 points and center
Dan Brogan (jr. Northvale, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) added 11. Robinson grabbed nine rebounds while Brogan had eight. Guard
Kris O'Connor (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Paul VI) dished six assists.
Rowan has a 4-1 record and Rosemont is 2-4 overall. Guard Kyle Lafferty (so. Philadelphia, PA/Central) led the Ravens with 18 points. He collected five assists and five steals. Guard Nadir Stukes (sr. Philadelphia, PA/Engineering & Sciences) and forward Khai Roberts (so. Middletown, DE/Middletown) produced 10 points apiece. Stukes registered five assists while Roberts pulled down seven boards. Guard Marcus Thomas (jr. Philadelphia, PA/Manor College) scored eight points.
In the first 6:48 of the game, both teams were only able to lead by three points. Gross' layup gave the Profs a three point advantage (13-10) at 13:12. Stukes hit a jumper (12:46) to pull within one point. Rowan then had baskets by Gross (12:12) and forward
Skylar Moore (jr. Westville, NJ/Hempstead (NY)) (11:44), which made the score 17-12. Rosemont went ahead 20-17 (10:24) after eight straight points. Lafferty scored five points and forward Dyshon Pack (so. Philadelphia, PA/Philadelphia Electrical & Technical Charter) had a three-pointer.
The Profs answered with a 15-2 run for a 10-point advantage (32-22) with 4:23 remaining. Gross, Robinson and Brogan each contributed with four points and Simpson sank a three. Rowan scored three straight baskets to lead 41-25 with 2:20 on the clock. Forward

Josh Borrelli (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and Robinson had two points apiece. Gross' layup (0:40) ended the scoring and the Profs were ahead 45-29. He produced 12 points in the first half and Robinson totaled 11. Lafferty led the Ravens with 10 points.
Rosemont started the second period with seven straight points to cut the deficit to nine (45-36) at 18:18. Stukes scored four points and Roberts had three. The Ravens trailed by three (53-50) with 9:55 left. Rowan produced 15 unanswered points for an 18-point advantage (68-50) at 6:48. Simpson made nine of the 15 points.
Roberts drained a three at 1:22 and Rosemont was down by 10 points (74-64). Lafferty hit a three to pull within eight points (77-69) at the 38-second mark. The Profs were three for six at line in the final 33 seconds of the game. Simpson led all scorers with 15 points in the second half.
Next week, Rowan hosts conference opponent Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday, December 3 at 6 p.m.
