ResultsDALLAS, PA – The Rowan University women's swim team defeated Misericordia University, 143-116 on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs are 3-0 overall while the Cougars have a 0-2 record. Rowan won the 400 medley (4:13.29) and 400 freestyle (3:48.14) relays. The medley relay included
Amanda Burke (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.),
Olivia Wojtowicz (jr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County),
Rikki Berk (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) and
Victoria Grimsgaard (jr. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.).
Gigi Russo (sr. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.),
Julie Sheehan (so. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.), Grimsgaard and
Olivia Graham (jr. Montclair, NJ/Montclair) were on the freestyle relay.
Julia DelNero (jr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) took first place in the 500 (5:34.98) and 1000 (11:18.25) freestyles. She was second (2:31.67) in the 200 butterfly. Grimsgaard swam a winning time of 2:03.12 in the 200 freestyle. She also took first (54.83) in the 100 free.
Alyssa Schaefer (sr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) finished first (2:28.57) in the 200 butterfly. Burke was the winner (2:21.45) in the 200 backstroke. Wojtowicz was first (1:04.37) in the 100 butterfly. In the 100 breaststroke, Wojtowicz came in second (1:11.09) followed by
Sam Wahl (jr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood), third (1:14.37). Wojtowicz also had a second place (2:33.72) in the 200 breaststroke and Berk was third (2:40.33).
Nicole Vick (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) had a second place (11:38.02) in the 1000 freestyle and she was third (2:29.09) in the 200 backstroke. Russo was second in the 100 backstroke (1:05.35) and 500 freestyle (5:43.77). Sheehan had a third place (26.60) in the 50 free.
Next week, Rowan hosts William Paterson University in the conference opener on Wednesday, November 5 at 6 p.m.
