ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's swim team defeated Cabrini College, 112-80 on Thursday night. It was the first home meet of the season.
The Profs have a 2-0 record while the Cavaliers are 2-2 overall. Rowan won (2:01.33) the 200 medley relay with
Amanda Burke (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.),
Sam Wahl (jr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood),
Rikki Berk (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) and
Jessie Hood (jr. Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.). The 200 freestyle relay had a winning time of 1:44.81.
Julie Sheehan (so. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.),
Victoria Grimsgaard (jr. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.),
Leanne Zaug (sr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and
Gigi Russo (sr. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.) were on the freestyle relay.
Olivia Wojtowicz (jr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) was the winner in the 500 (5:32.24) and 1,000 (11:23.12) freestyles.
Julia DelNero (jr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) swam 2:04.25 in the 200 freestyle for first place. She also won (57.99) the 100 free. Berk came in first in the 200 individual medley (2:19.68) and the 100 butterfly (1:03.67)
Grimsgaard finished first in the 50 free (24.91). Sheehan had a first place (1:06.46) in the 100 backstroke.
Casey Sickler (sr. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) took first (1:17.28) in the 100 breaststroke.
Next, Rowan travels to Misericordia University on Saturday, November 1 for a 1 p.m. meet.
