ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swim team won over Cabrini College, 111-80 on Thursday night.
The Profs have a record of 2-0 and the Cavaliers are 2-2. The Profs won the 200 medley (1:40.98) and the 200 freestyle (1:31.01) relays. The medley relay included
Colin Fisher (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee),
Mike Simunek (so. Cherry NJ/Cherry Hill E.),
Connor Buck (jr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) and
Nick Marte (fr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn).
John Shellem (fr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape), Simunek,
Eric Feuerstein (fr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) and
Chris Boyle (so. Springfield, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) swam on the freestyle relay.
Patrick Myers (jr. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett),
Paul Long (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee),
Liam Tully (sr. Cedar Grove, NJ/St. Peter's Prep) and
Luke Wister (so. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) finished second (1:45.73) in the 200 medley relay. Shellem,
Eric Emerson (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.),
Nick Stranix (so. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) and
Steven Buzby (so. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) took third (1:45.94).
Rowan won eight out of the nine individual events.
Kyle Surette (jr. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:42.17. Long had a first place (1:49.31) in the 200 freestyle. Buck swam a time of 2:01.75 to win the 200 individual medley.
Jesse Novak (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) had a victory (53.43) in the 100 butterfly and
Brad Updegraff (so. Frederick, MD/Walkersville) took first (51.48) in the 100 freestyle. In the 100 backstroke, Fisher finished first (55.97) and in the 500 freestyle, Emerson had a first place (5:02.10). Myers won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:00.92.
Brian Suatengco (fr. Toms River, NJ/Donovan Catholic) finished second (10:47.02) and
Matt Dieterle (fr. Somerdale, NJ/Sterling), third (11:37.05) in the 1000 freestyle.
Jonathan Leonardo (fr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.) had a second place in the 50 freestyle (23.43).
The Rowan swim team travels to face Misericordia University on Saturday, November 1 at 1 p.m. The diving team competes in the West Chester University Invitational on Saturday, November 1 at 10 a.m.
