Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The William Paterson University men's soccer team defeated Rowan University, 2-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Saturday night.
 
Back Marcus Hackett (sr. Montclair, NJ/Immaculate Conception) scored the game winner with 2:01 left to play when he dribbled into the box and shot the ball inside the bottom left corner. The Pioneers have a record of 7-7-2 and they are 2-4-1 in the NJAC. The Profs are 8-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
 
William Paterson midfielder Carlos Arevalo (jr. North Haledon, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep) scored one goal. Midfielder Parker Oris (sr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) tallied Rowan's goal. Midfielder Jake Conners (fr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) had one assist.
 
Rowan goalie Kevin Vasta (sr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) made three saves. William Paterson goalie Mike Diacheysn (so. Nutley, NJ/Nutley) recorded two stops. The Profs produced 13 shots and the Pioneers had 10.
 
Oris gave Rowan a 1-0 lead at the 15:33 mark when he headed Conner's free kick into the top left corner of the goal. The Pioneers tied the game with 24:41 on the clock as Arevalo's shot went inside the left post.
 
Rowan hosts SUNY Old Westbury on Monday, October 20 at 6 p.m.
