Box Score MONTCLAIR, NJ – The Montclair State University men's soccer team defeated Rowan University, 5-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match on Saturday night.
 
The Profs are 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Red Hawks have a record of 11-3 and they are undefeated in the NJAC at 5-0.
 
Montclair State midfielder Lucas Terci (jr. Union, NJ/Union) scored two goals and had one assist. Midfielder Damian Bziukiewicz (jr. East Rutherford, NJ/Becton Reg.) tallied one goal and two assists. Midifelder Maxx Wurzburger (sr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) added one goal and one assist, while forward Mike Olla (so. Bloomfield, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep) scored once.
 
Forward Travis Ward (fr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) scored Rowan's goal. Back Dante Nocito (jr. Delran, NJ/Delran) had the assist. Profs goalie Kevin Vasta (sr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) made three saves. Red Hawks goalie Michael Gonzalez (so. Kenilworth, NJ/Union Catholic) stopped five shots.
 
The Red Hawks scored three times in the first half. Olla found the back of the net at the 15:39 mark. He scored on the rebound of a shot that hit the post. Terci made it 2-0 with 26:43 to play. He took a cross from Bziukiewicz and headed the ball to the left of Vasta. Bziukiewicz then scored on a header at 31:48, taking the pass from Wurzburger in the box.
 
In the second half, Terci found Wurzburger at the top of the box and hit left side (65:06). With 23:36 left on the clock, Terci scored on a one-timer from Bziukiewicz for a 5-0 lead. Ward put Rowan on the scoreboard at 69:23 off a pass from Nocito.
 
Next, Rowan travels to Richard Stockton College on Wednesday, October 15 at 8 p.m.
