Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Travis Ward's goal at the 89th minute propelled the Rowan University men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Rutgers-Camden in a conference game on Wednesday night.
Ward (fr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) took midfielder Vinny Ignatowicz's (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) cross in the box and shot the ball inside the left post. Rowan goalie Graeham Gotrell (jr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) made five saves to record his first collegiate victory.
Rutgers-Camden goalie Eric Bumbera (so. Wall, NJ/Wall) stopped six shots. The Scarlet Raptors tallied 16 shots and the Profs had 15.
The Profs have an overall mark of 7-4 and they are 2-1 in the conference. The Scarlet Raptors have a record of 6-5 and are 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan had not defeated Rutgers-Camden since a 2-1 victory on October 28, 2009.
