YORK, PA – The Rowan University women's swim team won 153-100 at York College on Monday night.
The Profs are 7-1 overall while the Spartans have a 3-7 record. Rowan took first place in the 200 medley (1:58.08) and 200 freestyle (1:45.80) relays. The medley relay included Lauren Grajek (sr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.), Olivia Wojtowicz (so. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County), Rikki Berk (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) and Victoria Grimsgaard (so. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.). Allison Schneider (sr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford), Julie Sheehan (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.), Leanne Zaug (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and Grimsgaard made up the freestyle relay.
Schneider won the 200 (2:03.18) and 500 (5:30.62) freestyles. Grimsgaard swam 25.43 in the 50 free for first place and she was third (57.32) in the 100 freestyle. Berk was the winner in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.83. Wojtowicz had a first place (2:19.00) in the 200 individual medley.
Grajek finished first in the 100 (1:05.75) and 200 (2:24.13) backstrokes. Sam Wahl (so. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) was the winner (1:10.55) in the 100 breaststroke while Berk and Wojtowicz were second (1:13.83) and third (1:13.88) respectively. Wahl also won the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.91. Nicole Vick (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:06.20) followed by Zaug, third (2:07.30).
Kelly Gallagher (so. Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.) took second in the 100 (1:06.89) and 200 (2:25.10) backstrokes. Christine Gustafson (fr. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) had a second place (2:22.67) in the 200 butterfly and Alyssa Schaefer (jr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) was third (2:27.47). Sheehan took third (27.28) in the 50 free and fourth (59.43) in the 100 freestyle. Sara Seidman (so. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) came in third (1:08.59) in the 100 backstroke. Casey Sickler (jr. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) finished third (2:47.09) in the 200 breaststroke.
