YORK, PA – The Rowan University men's swim team won 154-101 over York College on Wednesday. The Profs are 8-0 on the season.

Rowan took first place in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays with times of 1:38.68 and 1:29.57 respectively.  The medley relay included Larry Dow (sr. Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams), Tyler Coe (so. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.), Pat Malone (sr. Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and Troy Cervini (jr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland). Malone, Cervini, Dow and Jesse Novak (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) made up the free relay.
 
Zac Wister (jr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) took first place in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:19.20. Novak won the 50 (22.28), 100 (49.64) and 200 (1:49.09) freestyles. Steven Buzby (fr. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) was first in the 500 (5:01.54) and second (1:50.57) in the 200 freestyles. Kyle DeVore (fr. Annapolis, MD/South River) swam to a first place finish in the 100 backstroke (54.76), while Eric Emerson (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) took third (56.95) and Avery Alexander (fr. Eatontown, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) was fourth (58.37).
 
Coe won the 200 individual medley (2:05.33) and finished second (1:00.37) in the 100 breaststroke. Paul Long (fr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) was third (1:02.06) and Mike Simunek (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took fourth (1:02.97) in the 100 breaststroke. Long also finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.90). The 200 butterfly was won by Malone (2:03.55). Malone also took first in the 100 butterfly (53.16). Tylar Warfle (fr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:06.77) and Connor Buck (so. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) took third (2:08.62).
 
Cervini was second in the 50 freestyle (22.47) and the 100 freestyle (49.84). Kyle Surrette (so. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) finished second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:11.39. Pat Myers (so. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) was third in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.66).
 
Rowan hosts Montclair State University on Saturday, January 18 for a 1 p.m. meet.
