NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ  – The Rowan University women’s swimming and diving team finished fifth after three days of competition at the Metropolitan Championships.  The championships included 19 schools and were held at Rutgers University.

The Profs took fourth place in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:35.47.  The relay consisted of Olivia Graham (fr. Montclair, NJ/Montclair), Victoria Grimsgaard (fr. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.), Teresa Stearns (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) and Gigi Russo (so. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.)   

Allison Schneider (jr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) came in third (17:51.69) in the 1650 freestyle while Julia DelNero (fr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) and Adrienne Bush (jr. Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) were seventh (18:37.27) and 10th (18:54.25) respectively.

Abby Grasso (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) swam 2:18.70 in the 200 butterfly for ninth place.  Russo finished 10th (53.98) in the 100 freestyle and Stearns was 12th (54.54) followed by Graham, 13th (54.76).  Kelly Gallagher (fr. Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.) captured 12th (2:12.30) in the 200 backstroke and Lauren Grajeck (jr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.) was 15th (2:13.44).  Alyssa Schaefer (so. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) took 14th place (2:24.29) in the 200 butterfly. 

Olivia Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne’s County) finished 15th (2:33.82) in the 200 breaststroke and Casey Sickler (so. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) was 24th (2:43.77).  Leanne Zaug (so. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) had a 20th place (56.30) in the 100 freestyle.  In the 200 backstroke, Sara Seidman (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) finished 20th (2:15.99) and Nicole Vick (so. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) was 24th (2:18.07).
