Box Score GALLOWAY, NJ – Rowan University fell to Richard Stockton College, 3-1 in the final of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The set scores were 25-16, 25-27, 25-12 and 25-18.
 
Stockton (30-5) has earned the NJAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Rowan (23-9) will now await a possible at-large berth. The bracket will be announced live on ncaa.com on Monday, November 11 at 11 a.m.
 
Setter Rebecca Dantonio (fr. Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) recorded 38 assists and 12 digs. Middle hitter Morgan Mende (so. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) collected 12 kills, while outside hitter Danielle Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) tallied 11 kills and six digs. Libero Casey Grasso (sr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) had 13 digs.
 
For Stockton, opposite hitter Nicole Serekian (sr. Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) tallied 14 kills and 11 digs. Opposite hitter Lindsay Schuele (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) added 12 kills and 10 digs. Setters Shannon Clark (so. Folsom, PA/Ridley) and Mayan Alvarado (sr. Gainesville, FL/P.K. Yonge) recorded 28 and 19 assists respectively. Defensive specialist Emily Grube (jr. Orwigsburg, PA/Nativity BVM) had 16 digs.
 
In the first set, Stockton went ahead 10-6, but Rowan used a 6-1 run to take its first lead at 12-11. The set was tied at 12, 13 and 14. The Ospreys then recorded eight unanswered points and had a 22-14 advantage, eventually winning the first set.
 
The score was tied at four early in set two, but a 6-2 spurt by the Profs made the score 10-6. Stockton got to within 11-9, but Rowan scored four of the next five points for a 15-10 advantage. Rowan then led 20-16, but the Ospreys used an 8-1 run to go ahead 24-21. The Profs scored six of the final seven points to win the second set.
 
Stockton jumped out to an 11-4 lead to start set three. Rowan could not recover from the early deficit and dropped the third set. The fourth set was tied at 10, but an 8-1 run by Stockton gave the Ospreys an 18-11 lead. The Profs used a 6-1 spurt to pull within 19-17, but the Ospreys scored six of the final seven points to win the set and the NJAC Championship.
