Women's Soccer Wins 9-1 Over William Paterson

Forward Erika Suhl leads Profs with three goals and one assist.

Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team won 9-1 over William Paterson University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.

Forward Erika Suhl (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) led the Profs with three goals and one assist.  Forward Tiffany Kelly (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) contributed with two goals and one assist.  Forwards Dayna Sakalsky (sr. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central), Samantha Reader (fr. Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade) and Nicole Bashford (fr. Union, NJ/Union) and midfielder/forward Jamie Bertoli (so. Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) all scored one time. 

Midfielder Lisa Cella (fr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) registered two assists.  Back/midfielder Victoria Camera (jr. Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton W.), back Miranda Donnian (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.), midfielder/forward Sherry Oller (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) and midfielder Megan Carchidi (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) each chipped in with an assist.

Midfielder Alana Keffer (jr. Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Borough) had the lone goal for the Pioneers.  Rowan took 23 shots while William Paterson had 10.  Goalie Carleigh Trivino (fr. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) had five saves in 61:22 in the Profs' net.  Goalie Jamie Cheeka (fr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) played the remainder of the game.  For the Pioneers, goalie Kelly Garrido (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) stopped three shots.

Rowan was ahead 4-1 after the first half.  Suhl started the scoring at 1:14 then Keffer tied the score at 8:43.  Kelly put the Profs ahead at 24:48 with an assist from Suhl.  Suhl (28:47) and Kelly (30:36) each hit the net one more time before the intermission.

Sakalsky made the score 5-1 at 47:50 and Suhl followed with her third goal at 49:46.  Bertoli (60:19), Bashford (61:00) and Reader (74:43) all hit the William Paterson net.
