Box Score WAYNE, NJ – The William Paterson University men's soccer team defeated Rowan University, 2-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday evening.

Midfielder Matt Nigro (sr. Morganville, NJ/Marlboro) scored the winning goal at 76:24.  He knocked in a loose ball in front of the Profs' net.  Nigro had the assist on the Pioneers' tying goal, which was scored by back Aken Pierre (so. North Plainfield, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep).  Pierre headed in Nigro's free kick at 73:18.

William Paterson is 7-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.  Rowan has a 6-6 record with a 0-4 conference mark. 

Forward/midfielder Dylan Smith (sr. Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) scored the Profs' goal at 13:09 with an assist from midfielder/back Brian Kahn (sr. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood).  Smith's shot hit the bottom right corner of the Pioneers' net.  Rowan goalkeeper Kevin Vasta (jr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) stopped five shots while William Paterson goalie Mike Diacheyan (fr. Nutley, NJ/Nutley) made four saves.
