RADNOR, PA – The Rowan University women's swim team defeated host Cabrini College, 109-71 on Thursday night. The Profs are 2-0 on the season.
Rowan took first place in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays with times of 1:58.35 and 1:49.10 respectively. The medley relay included Lauren Grajek (sr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.), Olivia Wojtowicz (so. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County), Julie Sheehan (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) and Leanne Zaug (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park). Grajek, Sheehan, Zaug and Nicole Vick (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) were on the free relay.
The Profs won all nine individual events. Victoria Grimsgaard (so. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.) was the winner in the 50 (24.78) and 100 (55.26) freestyles. Wojtowicz came in first in the 200 individual medley (2:20.32) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.03). Vick finished first in the 200 (2:05.33) and 500 (5:34.98) freestyles.
Jessica Hood (so. Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) took first place (12:23.60) in the 1000 freestyle. In the 100 butterfly, Alyssa Schaefer (jr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) was first (1:07.11) followed by Abby Grasso (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.), second (1:07.28). Grajek swam 1:05.31 in the 100 backstroke for first place.
Rowan swims at home on Saturday, November 2 against Misericordia University at 2 p.m.
