GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men’s swim team had a 166-82 victory over York College (PA) in a nonconference meet on Monday evening.
The Profs have won six straight meets and improve to 6-3 overall. The Spartans have a 5-7-1 record.
Rowan won the 200 medley (1:39.06) and 200 freestyle (1:30.55) relays. The 200 medley relay was comprised of Larry Dow (jr. Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams), Tyler Coe (fr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.), Pat Malone (jr. Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and Ben Cain (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit). Tim Dimond (sr. Allentown, PA/Emmaus), Dow, Cain and Coe made up the 200 freestyle relay.
Malone won three individual events. He had first places in the 200 freestyle (1:46.13), 100 butterfly (52.48) and 200 individual medley (2:03.50). Coe was the winner in the 100 (59.37) and 200 (2:15.02) breaststrokes. Connor Buck (fr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) captured first in the 500 (5:06.33) and 1000 (10:39.80) freestyles.
Dow came in first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.16. Chris Cannizzaro (so. Cedar Grove, NJ/St. Peter’s Prep) had a first place (2:03.21) in the 200 butterfly. He took second (54.87) in the 100 butterfly, followed by Dimond, third (55.02). Max Tyburski (sr. Burke, VA/Lake Braddock Secondary) finished first (21.34) in the 50 freestyle and he was second (1:00.15) in the 100 breaststroke. Zac Wister (so. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) won the 200 backstroke in 2:00.73.
In the 100 backstroke, Dimond, Brad Hawkins (jr. Millville, NJ/Cumberland Reg.) and Mike Demarest (jr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) came in second (57.09), third (57.66) and fourth (57.79) respectively. Patrick Myers (fr. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.91) and 200 IM (2:04.51). Liam Tully (so. Cedar Grove, NJ/St. Peter’s Prep) had a third place (2:22.54) in the 200 breaststroke. Kyle Surette (fr. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) took third (2:10.64) in the 200 IM.
