GALLOWAY, NJ – Midfielder Ryan Gordon recorded the winning goal in overtime for the Rowan University men’s soccer team in a 2-1 conference victory at Richard Stockton College.

Gordon (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) headed in the game-winner at 96:12.  He knocked in the rebound after his first header was knocked away by an Osprey player.  Rowan improves to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.  Richard Stockton has a 4-4-1 record with a 2-2 conference mark.     

The Ospreys took 19 shots while the Profs had nine.  Rowan goalkeeper Michael Fanz-Huster (sr. Waterford, NJ/Hammonton) made four saves.  For Richard Stockton, goalie Bob Millar (fr. Green Ridge, NJ/Allentown) stopped two shots.

The Profs struck first when forward Christian Fountain (so. Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford) headed in a cross from back Shane Dooley (sr. Burlington Twp., NJ/Burlington Twp.) at 48:50.  The Ospreys tied the score at 76:28 on a penalty kick by forward Pat Rafferty (jr. Brick, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy).    

Rowan is back home on Saturday, September 29 against conference opponent William Paterson University at 7 p.m.
