Suhl's Hat Trick Leads Women's Soccer To A 3-0 Win Over Stevenson

GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Erika Suhl scored three goals to the lead the Rowan University women’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Stevenson University in a nonconference game on Saturday afternoon.

The Profs improve to 3-1 while the Mustangs have a 4-2 record.  Stevenson was ranked fourth in this week’s Mid-Atlantic Region rankings.

The game was scoreless after the first half.  Suhl’s (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) first goal came at 51:19.  She knocked a pass from forwardvc  Morgan Muracco (sr. Washington Twp., NJ/Paul VI) into the lower left corner of the net.  Suhl added an unassisted goal 3:20 later.  She sent a shot from outside the box into the upper right corner.  At 68:25, Suhl scored on a breakaway.  She has five goals on the season.

Rowan took 11 shots, while Stevenson had 10.  Profs’ goalkeeper Maria Dorris (sr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.) made five saves for her third shutout.  Mustang’s goalkeeper Lauren Weitzman (jr. Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) stopped four shots in 75 minutes.  Goalkeeper Kayla Arnold (fr. Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key) played the final 15 minutes.

Rowan plays at conference opponent Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday, September 19 at 7 p.m.
