MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Rowan University women’s lacrosse team defeated Roger Williams University, 23-10 during its spring break trip on Tuesday afternoon.

Rowan improves to 2-2, while Roger Williams has a 0-5 record.  The Profs were led by midfielder Jamie Blondina (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) with five goals and two assists.  Midfielder Michelle Lubrano (sr. Delanco, NJ/Holy Cross) posted five goals and one assist.  Attack Becca Wood (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) totaled four goals and one assist.  Attack Vicky Sucharski (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) registered one goal and three assists. 

Midfielder Lauren Callaghan (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) and attacks Marissa Micciche (so. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) and Colleen Nauss (so. Hilltop, NJ/Paul VI) all found the net twice.  Attack Ellen Brigham (jr. Oakton, VA/Oakton) and defender Shannon O’Brien (jr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) contributed with one goal apiece.  Attack Caitlin Ravel (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) dished two assists.

For Roger Williams, attack Dana Wilfahrt tallied three goals and two assists.  Midfielder Kristen Pingree and attack Samantha Davenport each scored two goals.  Attack Danica Delia compiled one goal and one assist.  Attack Danielle Neagle and defender Catherine Smeykal both chipped in with one goal.  Attacks Jessica Searl, Kelsey Rahilly and Deven Machette all collected one assist.

Rowan took 46 shots and Roger Williams had 24.  Profs’ goalie Lindsay Barrie (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made nine saves in 49:30.  Goalie Kerry Pehnke (sr. West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) stopped two shots in 10:30.  Hawks’ goalie Justine Sullivan turned away eight shots.

Rowan plays 12th ranked Messiah College on Thursday, March 15 at noon in Myrtle Beach, SC.
