DALLAS, PA – The Rowan University men’s swim team had a 153.5-101.5 victory over Misericordia University on Saturday.

The Profs improve to 3-3, while the Cougars have a 1-2 record.  Rowan won the 200 medley (1:37.53) and 400 freestyle (3:19.34) relays.  The medley relay was comprised of Larry Dow (jr. Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams), Tyler Coe (fr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.), Pat Malone (jr. Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and Max Tyburski (sr. Burke, VA/Lake Braddock Secondary).  Malone, Ben Cain (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit), Tim Dimond (sr. Allentown, PA/Emmaus) and Tyburski were on the freestyle relay.

Malone was the winner in the 100 (53.08) and 200 (2:02.48) butterflies.  Tyburski had first place finishes in the 50 (21.22) and 100 (47.90) freestyles.  Dimond captured first in the 200 (1:48.35) and 500 (5:00.45) freestyles. 

In the 1000 freestyle, Zac Wister (so. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) was first (10:18.99) followed by Connor Buck (fr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) third (10:37.75).  Dow won the 100 backstroke in 54.69 and Kyle Surette (fr. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) came in third (56.22).  Surette finished first (2:03.23) in the 200 backstroke and second (2:04.19) in the 200 individual medley.

Chris Cannizzaro (so. Cedar Grove, NJ/St. Peter’s Prep) took second (2:06.03) in the 200 butterfly.  In the 100 breaststroke, Coe and Patrick Myers (fr. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) were second (1:01.45) and third (1:05.42) respectively.  Myers also had a third place (2:08.77) in the 200 individual medley.  Chris Alaimo (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) captured third (1:54.56) in the 200 freestyle.  Cain finished third (23.05) in the 50 freestyle.  Mike Demarest (jr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) was third (2:08.57) in the 200 backstroke.

Rowan hosts William Paterson University in its conference opener on Saturday, November 10 at 1 p.m.
