GLASSBORO, NJ  – The Rowan University women’s swimming and diving team defeated William Paterson University, 130-84 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) meet on Saturday.

The Profs are 4-4 on the season while the Pioneers are 0-2 overall.  It was the first conference contest for both teams.

Rowan won the 200 medley relay in 1:56.56 with Lindsey Raleigh (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.), Olivia Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne’s County), Charlene Gustafson (jr. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) and Teresa Stearns (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit).  The 200 freestyle relay had a winning time of 1:45.01.  The relay included Gustafson, Raleigh, Gigi Russo (so. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.) and Stearns.

Russo and Stearns tied for first (25.76) in the 50 free. Stearns had a first place (56.05) in the 100 freestyle.  Wojtowicz finished first (1:12.58) in the 100 breaststroke.  Gustafson swam 1:02.78 in the 100 butterfly for first place.

Allison Schneider (jr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) was the winner in the 200 individual medley (2:18.79).  Julia DelNero (fr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) came in first (11:17.91) in the 1000 freestyle.  Leanne Zaug (so. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) won (2:03.23) the 200 freestyle while Adrienne Bush (jr. Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) had a first place (5:36.81) in the 500 freestyle.

Kelly Gallagher (fr. Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.) took first (1:04.70) in the 100 backstroke.  Catherine Anzano (jr. Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) totaled 251.28 points in the three-meter diving for first place.  Rachel Anzano (so. Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) came in first on the one-meter board with 207.98 points.  

For William Paterson, Kerry Dorris (sr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had second places in the 200 individual medley (2:32.71) and the 100 breaststroke (1:18.84).  Taylor McKay (sr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) came in second in the 200 (2:11.92) and 500 (5:56.36) freestyles.  Lauren Carney (jr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) finished second (1:01.38) in the 100 freestyle and third (28.25) in the 50 free.

Next week, Rowan hosts Swarthmore College on Saturday, November 17 at 1 p.m.
