GLASSBORO, NJ  – The Rowan University women’s swim team defeated Cabrini College, 103-72 on Thursday evening.  It was the first home meet of the season for the Profs.

Rowan took first place in the 200 medley (1:58.78) and 200 freestyle (1:45.01) relays.  The medley relay included Lindsey Raleigh (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.), Olivia Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne’s County), Abby Grasso (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) and Teresa Stearns (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit).  Olivia Graham (fr. Montclair, NJ/Montclair), Gigi Russo (so. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.), Stearns and Leanne Zaug (so. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) were on the free relay.

The Profs won all nine individual events.  Julia DelNero (fr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) came in first in the 500 (5:31.90) and 1000 (11:18.68) freestyles.  Allison Schneider (jr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) was the winner in the 200 freestyle (2:01.63) and 100 butterfly (1:03.18).  Stearns swam 25.60 in the 50 free for first place. 

Kelly Gallagher (fr. Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.) took first in the 200 individual medley (2:21.70) and the 100 backstroke (1:04.54).  Charlene Gustafson (jr. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) had a first place (57.55) in the 100 freestyle and Wojtowicz won (1:14.16) the 100 breaststroke.

Rowan (2-4) travels Misericordia University on Saturday, November 3 for a 2 p.m. meet.
