GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-2 victory over Delaware Valley College in a nonconference match on Monday night.  The set scores were 18-25, 25-13, 25-27, 28-26 and 15-12.

Rowan improves to 16-6 on the season.  The Profs have won seven straight matches and 11 of their last 12.  The Aggies have a 10-8 record.

Outside hitter/middle blocker Dakota Oeskovic (jr. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) registered a match-high 13 kills.  Outside hitter Katie Havlicek (sr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) and outside hitter/middle blocker Morgan Mende (fr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) totaled 12 kills apiece.  Havlicek also collected 24 digs and Mende had four blocks.  Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) contributed with 11 kills and four blocks. 

Setter Nicole Ciandella (jr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) tallied 41 assists and 18 digs.  Defensive specialist Casey Grasso (jr. Wilmington, DE/Alex I. duPont) compiled 20 digs and libero Lauren Ruffalo (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had 19.  Defensive specialist Marissa Micciche (jr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) added 14 digs.

For Delaware Valley, middle hitter Janel Gluch (jr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) recorded 12 kills.  Middle hitter/outside hitter Destinee Horning (jr. Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) posted 10 kills, 17 digs and seven blocks.  Outside hitter Gina Page (so. West Mifflin, PA/West Mifflin) chipped in with nine kills and 18 digs.  Setter Crystal Ronan (so. Springfield, VA/Robert E. Lee) accumulated 33 assists and 17 digs.  Libero Sammy Alevras-Tarbel (sr. Livingston, NJ/Livingston) had 18 digs and four service aces.  Outside hitter Alyssa Riggins (jr. Elkton, MD/St. Mark’s) registered 14 digs and three aces.

Rowan hosts Valley Forge Christian College on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 p.m.
