Results

SALISBURY, MD  – The Rowan University women’s swim team had a 149-104 win over Salisbury University on Tuesday evening. 

The Profs took first place in the 200 meter medley (2:08.95) and 200 meter freestyle (1:55.58) relays. Lauren Grajek (jr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.), Olivia Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne’s County), Teresa Stearns (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) and Gigi Russo (so. Rumson NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.) were on the medley relay.  The freestyle relay consisted of Russo, Leanne Zaug (so. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park), Olivia Graham (fr. Montclair, NJ/Montclair) and Stearns.

Rowan had first places in all 12 individual events.  Graham was the winner in 200 (2:18.68) and 50 (28.52) meter freestyles.  Allison Schneider (jr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) took first in the 800 (9:38.16) and 400 (4:44.20) meter freestyles.  Russo finished first in the 100 meter freestyle in 1:02.30.

Kelly Gallagher (fr. Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.) came in first in the 100 (1:12.26) and 200 (2:34.09) meter backstrokes.  In addition, she won the 200 meter individual medley (2:37.67).  Wojtowicz had first places in the 100 (1:22.44) and 200 (2:56.99) meter breaststrokes.  Abby Grasso (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) swam a winning time of 2:39.71 in the 200 meter butterfly.  She also won the 100 meter butterfly in 1:11.29.  
 
Grajek was second in the 100 meter breaststroke (1:22.70) and 200 meter backstroke (2:37.63).  Sara Seidman (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) had a third place (2:40.79) in the 200 meter backstroke.  Alyssa Schaefer (so. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) took fourth (2:51.25) in the 200 meter butterfly. 

Next week, Rowan (1-4) has its home opener on Thursday, November 1 against Cabrini College at 6 p.m.
