BALTIMORE, MD – The Rowan University men’s and women’s swim teams competed in a relay meet at Johns Hopkins University on Saturday.

The men’s 300 butterfly relay won with a time of 2:36.72.  The team consisted of Pat Malone (jr. Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), Tim Dimond (sr. Allentown, PA/Emmaus), Max Tyburski (sr. Burke, VA/Lake Braddock Secondary) and Chris Cannizzaro (so. Cedar Grove, NJ/St. Peter’s Prep). 

Larry Dow (jr. Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams), Kyle Surette (fr. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan), Malone and Patrick Myers (fr. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) finished second (3:49.36) in the 4x100 individual medley relay.  Rowan was also second (3:08.88) in the 300 breaststroke relay with Brad Hawkins (jr. Millville, NJ/Cumberland Reg.), Tyler Coe (fr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.), Myers and Liam Tully (so. Cedar Grove, NJ/St. Peter’s Prep).

In the 500 freestyle relay, Ben Cain (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit), Malone, Zac Wister (so. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights), Dimond and Joe Licwinko (so. Kenilworth, NJ/David Brearly) came in third (4:20.43).   The Profs took third (1:43.55) in the 200 medley relay with Dow, Coe, Tyburski and Cain.  The 1000 freestyle relay had a fourth place (9:51.19) with Tyburski, Dimond, Connor Buck (fr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) and Wister.  Dow, Coe, Dimond and Tyburski made up the fourth place (3:40.57) 400 medley relay.  The 300 backstroke relay came in fourth (2:52.00) with Mike Demarest (jr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami), Dow, Surette and Malone.   

The women’s 300 breaststroke relay finished second with a time of 3:46.74.  The relay included Leanne Zaug (so. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park), Olivia Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne’s County), Adrienne Bush (jr. Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) and Casey Sickler (so. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.).  The 200 freestyle kick relay of Nicole Vick (so. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.), Abby Grasso (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.), Allison Schneider (jr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) and Olivia Graham (fr. Montclair, NJ/Montclair) took third (2:48.20). 

The 200 (1:59.53) and 400 (4:22.92) medley relays both came in fourth.  The 200 medley relay included Lauren Grajek (jr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.), Wojtowicz, Teresa Stearns (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) and Gigi Russo (so. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.).  Grajek, Wojtowicz, Grasso and Russo were on the 400 medley relay.
The 1000 freestyle relay had a time of 10:45.03 and was fourth with Russo, Graham, Julia DelNero (fr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) and Schneider.  Stearns, Graham, Schneider, Russo and Zaug were on the 500 freestyle relay that took fourth place (4:53.95). 

The 4x100 individual medley relay with Bush, Grajek, Sam Wahl (fr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) and Wojtowicz had a fourth place (4:35.41).  The 300 butterfly (3:14.93) and 300 backstroke (3:11.03) relays both finished fourth.  The butterfly relay was made up of Stearns, Grasso, DelNero and Schneider.  Kelly Gallagher (fr. Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.), Grajek, Sara Seidman (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) and Vick were on the breaststroke relay.     

Next week, Rowan travels to Salisbury University on Tuesday, October 23 for a 6 p.m. meet.
