GLASSBORO, NJ – The men’s and women’s swim teams hosted the Rowan Cup Races on Saturday.  The races included Swarthmore College and Widener University. 

In the morning session, the women finished second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:54.13) and third in the 200 medley relay (1:57.12).  The free relay consisted of Lauren Grajek (so. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.), Allison Schneider (so. Cranford, NJ/Cranford), Leanne Zaug (fr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and Teresa Stearns (jr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit).  Lindsey Raleigh (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.), Grajek, Stearns and Zaug were on the medley relay.

Schneider won the 200 free (2:05.42) and came in second in the 500 freestyle (5:24.90).  Stearns was the winner in the 50 free (26.01) and she took second in the 200 (2:07.86).  Raleigh finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:04.01). 

Zaug swam 26.94 in the 50 free for second.  In the 200 freestyle, Zaug and Nicole Vick (fr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) were fourth (2:08.33) and fifth (2:09.66) respectively.  Grajek had a fourth place (1:04.75) in the 100 backstroke and was sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:25.12).  Michelle Dunn (sr. Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) captured fifth (1:08.20) in the 100 butterfly.

In the early evening session, Rowan swam to third places in the 400 medley (4:22.89) and 200 freestyle (1:48.87) relays.  The 400 medley included Raleigh, Grajek, Abby Grasso (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) and Stearns.  The free relay members were Raleigh, Grajek, Zaug and Stearns.

Schneider took second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:49.79.  Grajek finished third (2:18.66) in the 200 backstroke and Stearns had a third place in the 100 free (57.27).  Grasso came in third (2:23.75) in the 200 butterfly while Alyssa Schaefer (fr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) and Dunn were fifth (2:26.37) and sixth (2:33.20) respectively.  

In the 1650 freestyle, Christie Carroll (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and Kristy Hill (jr. Turnersville, NJ/Washington Twp.) swam times of 21:05.39 and 21:05.41 respectively.  Grasso finished sixth (59.31) in the 100 free followed by Zaug seventh (59.42).  Casey Sickler (fr. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) took sixth (2:44.41) in the 200 breaststroke.
 
After Thanksgiving, Rowan will compete at the Swarthmore College Invitational on Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3.
