MAHWAH, NJ – The Rowan University men’s soccer team defeated Ramapo College, 4-2 in a conference road game on Wednesday.
Forward Christian Fountain (fr. Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford) led the Profs with two goals. Backs Jared Mangone (jr. Princeton Jct., NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) and Robby Davis (jr. North Wildwood, NJ/Cape May County Technical) each contributed with one goal. Forwards Julian Berrios (jr. Lakewood, NJ/Calvary Academy) and Joe Parella (sr. Howell, NJ/Howell) both chipped in with an assist.
The Profs are 7-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners have a 6-5-2 record with a 1-3-1 conference mark. Forward Rob Santaniello (jr. Oakland, NJ/Ramapo) and midfielder Anthony Pasciolla (so. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) scored one goal apiece for Ramapo. Midfielder Joe Kane (jr. Delran, NJ/Delran) had an assist.
Ramapo registered 25 total shots while Rowan took 12. Goalkeeper Ryan Gill (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) collected 11 saves for the Profs. Roadrunner goalkeeper Steve Monaghan (so. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) had one save in 66:50. Goalkeeper David LoBue (jr. Elmwood Park, NJ/Don Bosco Prep) stopped two shots in 23:10.
Fountain scored at 19:15 for a 1-0 advantage after the first half. Berrios assisted on the goal. Mangone started the scoring in the second period at 52:56. His goal came on a corner kick with a pass from Parella. Santaniello pulled the Roadrunners within one (53:34) with an assist from Kane. Fountain’s second goal was at 60:49. Davis put the Profs up 4-1 at 66:50. With 18:55 remaining, Pasciolla ended the scoring with an unassisted goal.
