CAMDEN, NJ – The Rutgers-Camden women’s volleyball team defeated Rowan University, 3-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Thursday night.

The set scores were 25-16, 25-15, 24-26 and 25-20. The Scarlet Raptors are 7-9 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Profs have a 7-5 overall record and a 2-2 NJAC mark.

For Rowan, middle blocker Krissy Collins (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) posted nine kills, three blocks and two service aces. Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) followed with seven kills and six blocks. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) compiled 15 digs. Defensive specialists Sarah Betancourt (jr. Harrington, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) and Casey Grasso (fr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) contributed with 13 and 11 digs respectively. Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) tallied 29 assists, six digs and two blocks.

Rowan hosts a tri-match on Saturday, October 2. In the first match at 10 a.m., Rowan plays Wesley College, followed by Wesley against Hunter College at noon. The Profs face Hunter at 2 p.m.
