Evening Session Results
GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan Cup Races concluded with an evening session for the Prof men’s and women’s swim teams. The races included teams from Swarthmore College, Widener University and York College (PA).
The Rowan men took first in the 400 yard medley and 200 yard freestyle relays with times of 3:41.74 and 1:29.27 respectively. The medley relay consisted of Stefan Pietrobono (so. Newark, DE/Brandywine), Dan Bower (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.), Tim Dimond (so. Allentown, PA/Emmaus) and Bill Malone (jr. Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic). Pietrobono, Malone, Jerry Capriotti (fr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) and Dimond made up the free relay.
The Rowan women won the 400 yard medley relay in 4:10.20 with Kate Winters (sr. Princeton Jct., NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro S.), Stacey Rahter (sr. Somers Point, NJ/Mainland Reg.), Anne O’Gorman (sr. Boonton, NJ/Academy of St. Elizabeth) and Allison Schneider (fr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford). The 200 yard freestyle relay came in second with a time of 1:43.57. Teresa Stearns (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit), Winters, Rahter and Schneider were on the free relay.
Dimond won the 200 yard backstroke in 2:03.37 while Malone took first (48.00) in the 100 yard freestyle. Kyle Banks (so. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) had a third place (17:40.07) in the 1650 yard freestyle. Jeff Terrell (so. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) finished third (2:10.54) in the 200 yard butterfly and Capriotti was third (49.87) in the 100 yard freestyle.
Schneider swam a winning time of 4:45.33 in the 400 yard individual medley followed by Winters second in 4:49.39. O’Gorman took first (2:17.07) in the 200 yard butterfly and Charlene Gustafson (fr. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) was third (2:18.68). In the 100 yard freestyle, Rahter came in second (55.81) followed by Schneider and Gustafson who were third (57.30) and fourth (57.79) respectively. Lindsey Cooker (so. Brigantine, NJ/Holy Spirit) had a third place (2:24.45) in the 200 yard backstroke.
The Rowan swim teams return to action after the holiday at the Swarthmore College Invitational on Friday and Saturday, December 3 and 4.
