GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-0 shutout over Valley Forge Christian College in a nonconference match on Thursday night. The set scores were 25-4, 25-7 and 25-6.
Rowan improves to 13-8 overall, while Valley Forge Christian has a 4-21 record. The Profs were led by outside hitter Katie Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) with eight kills and an .889 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Elaina Hansen (fr. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) followed with seven kills and a .700 hitting percentage.
Setter Kelsey Donovan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) totaled 23 assists and four service aces. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) registered 10 digs. Opposite Megan Mondelli (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) compiled nine service aces and seven digs. Defensive specialist Tina Yoroshko (fr. Gibbstown, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology) chipped in with three aces.
For the Patriots, setter Courtney Farabee (fr. Waynesburg, PA/Waynesburg Central) posted 10 digs and one service ace. Middle blocker Kelly Roos (fr. Westminster, MD/Adams County Christian Academy) added five digs.
Rowan travels to conference opponent Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday, October 19 at 7 p.m.
