GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-2 victory over Wesley College on Tuesday night. 

The Profs improve to 4-0, while the Wolverines are 1-5. Rowan won with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 27-29, 23-25 and 15-4. Outside hitter Katie Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) led the way with 17 kills and 11 digs. Opposite Megan Mondelli (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) recorded 20 digs and eight kills. Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (sr. Penns Grove, NJ/Park Bible Academy) added seven kills. Libero Casey Roselle (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) registered 35 digs, while defensive specialist Sarah Betancourt (so. Harrington Park, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) had 26. Setter Chrissy McKay (sr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) toatled 27 assists and 14 digs.

For Wesley, outside hitter Lilia Brekke (sr. Prescott, AZ/Caesar Rodney (DE)) posted 34 digs and 13 kills. Outside hitter Kristen Roberts (so. Loveland, CO/Middletown (DE)) compiled 11 kills and 10 digs, while setter Sophie Reed (so. Dover, DE/St. Thomas More) had 19 digs, 17 assists and nine kills. Setter Carle Ax (fr. Lewiston, ID/Lewiston) accumulated 20 assists and 11 digs. Defensive specialists Ashlynn Maloy (fr. Bear, DE/Hodgson Vo-Tech) and Marissa Incitti (fr. Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) had 14 digs apiece.

Rowan travels to Gwynedd-Mercy College on Thursday, September 10 at 7 p.m.
