Profs Tie Pioneers, 1-1 After Two Overtimes

WAYNE, NJ – The Rowan University men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie after two overtimes at William Paterson University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.

Rowan is 8-4-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the conference. William Paterson has a 5-3-5 record with a 0-1-4 NJAC mark. Rowan went up 1-0 at 22:04 in the first period when back Jason Dugan (sr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City) scored on a penalty kick. The Pioneers tied the game (1-1) at 54:46 in the second. Following a scramble in the box, midfielder Anthony Ferrer (so. Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany) scored the goal and back Andrew Tauriello (fr. Stockton, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) picked up the assist.

The Pioneers took 20 shots, while the Profs had 11. Rowan goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe (jr. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) made 10 saves. Goalkeeper Dan Peragallo (sr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) turned away six shots for William Paterson.

Rowan travels to Kean University for a NJAC game on Wednesday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m.
