At the Metropolitan Championships, Gillooly (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) produced wins in three individual events.  He won the 50 freestyle (20.19), and 100 (48.71) and 200 (1:47.26) backstrokes.  All three of his times were NCAA B cuts and he broke his school records in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.

Gillooly was a member of the first place 400 medley relay (3:16.15). He also swam on the 200 freestyle (1:20.81), 200 medley (1:29.03) and 400 freestyle (3:05.60) relays that came in second.  The 200 and 400 medley relays and the 200 freestyle relay broke the Rowan mark and had NCAA B cuts.Â

In the timed trials, the junior swam on the 800 freestyle relay that had a time of 6:43.77, which was a University record and a NCAA B cut.  Rowan took first place in the team scoring at the Metropolitan Championships
